About Multiscale Consulting

A couple of years ago, Dr. Bo Persson has developed a novel approach towards describing and understanding Contact Mechanics and Rubber Friction. This theory and a series of follow-up papers have been published in many peer-reviewed, scientific journals and been tested both numerically and now also experimentally by us and also other scientists. It was found that the approach by Persson is very powerful and can be adopted to many technical problems.

The success of this approach has lead to more and more interest from industry and consequently to cooperations with companies working with rubber. In order to address partners from industry Bo Persson and Boris Lorenz have started Multiscale Consulting as a platform to work closer together with industry.

Until today Multiscale Consulting is the leading expert on Contact Mechanics and Rubber Friction applying the original theories of Persson to help our costumers solving their questions related to the topics mentioned above. Today we are collaborating mainly with tire companies where we work together with 5 out of the top 7 tire producers (in terms of sales) in the world. However we also work together with other companies related to different types of problems involving contact mechanics, tribology and rubber friction problems.
